On Saturday April 11, 2026, from 10:30-12:30, Dr. Evangelia Leontis will teach a workshop for singers of all levels which brings together various yoga practices and key vocal techniques. Participants will discover better alignment for singing, connect to their breath through yoga and learn strategies to improve the quality of their voice.
In the first half, Evan will lead the group through a series of yoga postures specifically aimed at preparing the body to sing by eliminating tension and facilitating proper alignment. She will focus on increasing awareness of the breath, developing breath control and finding a tension-free stance. By learning to center the mind and body, pre-performance nerves may be reduced.
In the second part of the workshop, Evan will cover essential vocal techniques for effectively warming up the voice, extending range, addressing vocal registration challenges, and preserving vocal health.
A soprano, Evan has extensive experience on the opera, concert and recital stages. She holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts and a Masters degree in vocal performance. A performer, voice and yoga teacher, Evan’s passion “is singing and there is nothing I love more than sharing that passion with others through performing and teaching. I have over 15 years of experience helping singers fulfill the potential of their unique voice. . .”
The workshop will be held in the Fellowship Hall at Bethany Church, Randolph. Space is limited so preregistration and prepayment will hold your place. Payment of the $20 fee may be made via PayPal using the link below. If you cannot bring a yoga mat, there will be some available to borrow.
